Part 3
LET A MAN RADICALLY ALTER HIS THOUGHTS, AND HE WILL BE ASTONISHED AT THE RAPID TRANSFORMATION IT WILL EFFECT IN THE MATERIAL CONDITIONS OF HIS LIFE.
James Allen
Taking an inventory of the things our parents told us abour ourselves is a good place to start toward understanding our self-talk. Some have found it very effective to make a list of the people they consider to have influenced them the most in their lives and the positive and negative beliefs they got from them. People will often have heard polar opposites from the same person. For those that don't currently have memories of the spoken words that put their belief prints on them, it is enough to decide to be open to discovering them. Your intention to know will create a natural unfolding of them. Others prefer a less formal approach and trust they will recognize the beliefs along the way. Each person chooses what is right for them. The most important thing is that we must understand what we are saying to ourselves, both positive and negative. Otherwise, we are powerless to change it. Remember to practice being the observer and that we are merely looking for informaton that will help us uncover more of our true self. We aren't looking to have a pity party for ourselves. Think of it as a treasure hunt. When we start paying attention to our thoughts and see just how much negative ones we have it can seem overwhelming to try to undo it. The longer we practice, the more natural it becomes.
When letting go of beliefs that don't serve us, we must find a new thought to replace it. We will be far less likely to revert back to the old one when a positve one takes it's place. Remember that it is the feeling (emotion) that dictates our life experience. When we say a positive affirmation it is important to get ourself in the feeling place of it. Connecting with the feeling of our desire is where the power to manifest resides. The good feeling will open us up to receive and raise our vibration. It isn't what we do or say - it is how we feeeel about what we are doing or saying. The goal must be believable to you. If it isn't, it will simply block your desire from manifesting.
Remember:
Belief creates thought.....
Thought creates the feeling (emotion).....
Feeling creates our experience.......
